Doc Severinsen visits the 56th Army Band

The 56th Army Band at Fort Lewis, Washington recently enjoyed
an impromptu visit by Doc Severinsen, currently the Principal
Pops Conductor of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. He spoke
with the Stage Band as they were in rehearsal and the rest of
the band came in as spectators. Doc spent his short two-year
stint in the U.S. Army at Fort Lewis as World War II was winding
down. He performed that evening with the Tacoma Symphony.
